School leaders make dumplings with international students to welcome the New Year

On the occasion of the New Year, in order to enrich the Chinese traditional culture experience of international students and feel the care and warmth of the school family, at noon on December 28, the School of International Education organized international students to carry out dumplings to welcome the New Year. Mr. Wu Bing, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of the School of International Education, Ms. Chen Mei, Vice President of the School of International Education, Ms. Ma Lu, and teachers of international students gathered together with international students from Morocco, Indonesia, Turkmenistan, Mongolia and other countries to celebrate the Spring Festival.

Dumplings are a traditional Chinese food and one of the most distinctive foods during the Spring Festival. Through the teacher's explanation, the international students learned about the special meaning of dumplings in Chinese traditional customs. Under the guidance of the canteen ladies and teachers, the international students began to show their abilities, picking stuffing, putting ingredients, pinching skins, and were busy. After more than an hour of efforts, under the concerted efforts of everyone, a tray of dumplings with different shapes and unique characteristics were wrapped, and they could not wait to take photos with their "works".

When a tray of fragrant dumplings on the table, the students with relish to taste their own hand-made labor, repeatedly praised the hot dumplings delicious. Afterwards, the students introduced the New Year customs of their own countries and sang impromptu Chinese songs. The whole scene is a lively and festive atmosphere, laughter, warmth.

Wu Bing kindly inquired about the study and life of the international students, and expressed New Year greetings to all the international students on behalf of the school, hoping that the students in a foreign country can regard the school as their second home and the teachers as their family. He wished all the international students a happy Spring Festival and academic success, and encouraged them to study hard and be good ambassadors of cultural exchanges.

The international students present expressed their gratitude to the school leaders and teachers for their New Year wishes. The Chinese culture is extensive and profound, and it is very meaningful to experience the traditional customs of the Chinese New Year. Through this activity, international students not only feel the strong Chinese New Year flavor, but also have a deeper understanding and perception of Chinese traditional culture, and cultivate the feelings of love for school.
