In the afternoon of November 4th, sponsored by the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee and the Scientific Research Office, the science and Technology academic lecture entitled "The Science Popularization Power of China's Roads" was successfully held in the academic lecture hall. The lecture was delivered by Zheng Nian, a researcher from the China Institute of Science Popularization, and Wu Hongbin, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of the University, presided over. Wang Shaoming, dean of the College of Electrical and Biological Engineering, and nearly 600 teachers and students participated in the event.

Researcher Zheng Nian introduced what science popularization is, what science popularization is doing and why from three aspects: theory, practice and mission. He reviewed the hundred-year history of science popularization in modern China and pointed out that the enlightenment brought to us is to awaken the people to save the country, advocate science to rejuvenate the country, promote science and technology to enrich the country, and improve quality to strengthen the country. Zheng explained that science popularization is an important wing of innovation and development, and it is also a strategic work to realize Chinese-style modernization.

Wu Hongbin concluded that all teachers and students should give full play to the professional advantages and characteristics of our school in science education and science popularization, earnestly practice the scientific spirit, vigorously promote the spirit of scientists, and constantly inherit the spirit of Han teachers, and everyone should strive to be a science popularization messenger and participate in the cause of science popularization. Earnestly fulfill the responsibilities and mission of a higher normal college with nearly 120 years of historical and cultural heritage, and play its due role in creating a good scientific and cultural atmosphere, improving the scientific and cultural quality of the people, and enhancing the national innovation ability.
