Recently, the Hubei Provincial Department of Education issued the "Publicity on the third batch of Provincial first-class undergraduate courses", the "Wudang Taoist Architecture Appreciation" course created by Professor Song Jing of the School of History, Culture and Tourism was approved by the third batch of first-class undergraduate courses in Hubei Province.

The course "Wudang Taoist Architecture Appreciation" was first launched in 2011. Professor Song Jing has devoted himself to studying Wudang culture with fruitful results. He has published a series of books on Wudang culture collation and research, such as "Dayue Rhyme - Wudang Mountain Poetry Collection", "Dayue Qing Tour - Wudang Mountain Travel Notes Collection", "Dayue Appreciation - Wudang Mountain Taoist Architecture Appreciation". At the same time, Professor Song Jing is also committed to transforming the scientific research achievements of Wudang culture into teaching and research achievements, and accurately and elegantly explaining and systematically presenting the beauty of Wudang Taoist architecture with modern scientific and technological means, colorful pictures. The course Wudang Taoist Architecture Appreciation teaches the contents of the appreciation of Taoist architecture in Wudang Mountain from the aspects of name interpretation, geomancy site selection, structural layout, and aesthetic appreciation, leading college students to appreciate the huge scale and majestic manner of Taoist architecture in Wudang Mountain, a world cultural heritage, and the concept of Taoism, nature, and the unity of heaven and man conveyed by Taoist architecture. It opens up a new breakthrough in the teaching and research of Wudang culture in our school in the field of architectural aesthetic appreciation, reflects the local characteristic teaching of our school's talent training program, and also helps our school carry out the characteristics of general courses, which will cultivate good humanistic quality and improve the cultural confidence of college students.

It is reported that in 2019, the course was approved by Hanjiang Normal University online open course. In 2022, it will be awarded the university-level first-class undergraduate course construction project and university-level general education characteristic course. The curriculum team is carrying out practical teaching reform and trying to explore a new model of education.
