The pomegranate flowers were in full bloom, the farewell song was melodious, and the midsummer Han Normal University was filled with warmth. On the morning of June 10th, the 2026 graduation ceremony and degree conferral ceremony of Hanjiang Normal University was held in the gymnasium. Fu Yongchang, the secretary of the Party Committee, Xiao De, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee and president, as well as all the leaders at home and abroad, members of the University Degree Evaluation Committee, responsible comrades of relevant functional departments and secondary colleges, teacher representatives of each secondary college, alumni representatives, and parent representatives gathered together to witness the youth ceremony with the 2026 graduates. The ceremony was presided over by Wu Hongbin, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president.
The ceremony began with the solemn national anthem.
Fu Yongchang presented a flag to the representative of volunteers for the Western Plan.
Xiao De extended his congratulations to the 4,227 graduates who had successfully completed their studies and expressed his gratitude to the hardworking faculty and parents who had silently supported them. With the theme of "Remembering the Spirit of Important Replies, Bravely Shouldering the Mission of the Times, and Being the 'Answer Sheet' of the Era," he combined the spirit of three important replies from General Secretary Xi Jinping and gave advice to all graduates from three aspects: safeguarding the roots, cultivating virtue and talents, and making contributions to the era. Firstly, based on the mission of being a water source, he interpreted the spirit of perseverance embodied by the Han Normal University and introduced the achievements of the school's ecological protection team and volunteer services, hoping that the graduates would stick to their posts and practice ecological concepts. Secondly, closely related to the essence of teacher education, he cited outstanding alumni as examples and called on everyone to inherit the original intention of cultivating virtue and talents, take root at the grassroots level, hone their skills, and abide by moral principles. Thirdly, closely related to the background of the "14th Five-Year Plan" era, he encouraged young people to have a sense of national responsibility, embrace technology, and take practical action. Finally, Principal Xiao De presented three spiritual seeds: "perseverance, responsibility for guarding the land," "cultivating virtue and talents, taking root at the grassroots level," and "having a sense of national responsibility, striving with determination." He hoped that the graduates would inherit the excellent character, walk steadily and far on their life path, pursue their dreams, and expressed that Han Normal University would always be a solid backing for the graduates.
Zhou Minghua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Liu Yusong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, and Ombudsman, and Zhang Ping, a school leader, respectively read out the "Decision on Recognizing the Outstanding Graduates of the 2026 Session", the "Decision on Granting Bachelor's Degrees to 3,694 Undergraduate Graduates Including Li Binhang", and the "Notice on Appointing 97 Students Including Ding Xiang as Alumni Liaison Officers for the 2026 Session". The school leaders awarded the outstanding graduate representatives and presented appointment letters to the alumni liaison officer representatives.
Graduate representative, candidate for the "Most Beautiful College Student" award nationwide, Liu Jing from the School of Chemistry and Environmental Engineering, outstanding alumni representative, "Yangtze River Scholar", Li Jiahai, a 2018 graduate from the School of Education, and teacher representative, "Chutian Scholar", Pan Hao, a doctoral candidate from the School of Literature and Media, delivered speeches in succession, sharing their educational experiences, reflections on growth, and life messages. They interpreted the school motto spirit of "cultivating morality, enlightening intelligence, honing abilities, and persevering in action", and called on all graduates to cherish their dreams, dare to take on responsibilities, and embark on their journeys with the expectations of their alma mater.
Subsequently, the school leaders successively crowned the undergraduate graduates, presented them with degree certificates, awarded diploma certificates to the vocational graduates, and took a group photo with everyone to capture the precious moment.
Finally, all teachers and students stood up and sang the school anthem together, with the melodious tune expressing the deep sentiments of the campus.
Before the ceremony began, Wu Hongbin had a cordial exchange with the parents' representatives. The students from the Shiguang Chorus, the School of Arts, and the School of Physical Education sang "Boundless Oceans, Vast Skies" and "Running Youth" with emotion, igniting the atmosphere with a passionate and lively flash mob activity, and sending sincere blessings to the graduates.
The entire ceremony was solemn and heartwarming, filled with blessings and expectations. We wish all graduates of the 2026 session to make the most of their youth, pursue their dreams, and write a new chapter with the strength of youth.
