On May 23, Mr. Sun Donghan, doctor and associate professor of Nanyang Technology University was invited to give a lecture for the College of Automotive and Electronic Engineering, “All-Inorganic Halide Perovskites for Light Emitting Applications”.
Professor Sun introduced his research on the nonlinear optical properties including the multi-photon absorption and resultant photoluminescence, of all-inorganic cesium lead halide perovskite nanostructures, from which developed the solution of processable vertical cavity surface emitting lasers(VCSELs) demonstrating low-threshold, excellent spatial and ultrastable stimulated emission, which is a great leap in reducing the VCSEL device cost.
And more, Professor Sun talked about the necessity of studying physics and the significant role that physics plays in national technology innovation. Taking the mobile-cam and photokinetic energy watch as example, he introduced many other research achievements and applications in the field of light emitting.
After the lecture, there was an interactive session for questions and further exchange with students and teachers.
Nanyang Technology University is a research-intensive public university of Singapore, was ranked the 11th in the world and the first one in Asia in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings in 2017.
