On the evening of December 28, "Yellow River Canoy-2024 New Year Concert" was held in Wuhan Qintai Concert Hall. Teachers and students of Shiguang Choir of our school were invited to participate in the concert. The concert was organized by Central China Normal University and co-organized with seven universities including Tsinghua University, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) and Wuhan University of Technology. Renowned conductor Professor Tian Xiaobao is the artistic director, and famous singers He Leiming, Li Xiuying, Yu Huicheng, Li Chujian and Liu Chunxi are the soloists and lead singers. Wu Hongbin, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of our university, was invited to attend the concert.

The Yellow River Canoria, a 20th century Chinese musical classic, was written by poet Guang Weiran and composed by people's musician Xian Xinghai. The whole piece is composed of eight movements: "Yellow River Boatman's Song", "Yellow River Ode", "Yellow River Water from the sky", "Yellow Water Ballad", "Riverside opposite Song", "Yellow River Complaint", "Defend the Yellow River" and "Roar, Yellow River". During the Anti-Japanese War, Zhou Enlai wrote an inscription for the Yellow River Chorus: "Roar for the Anti-Japanese War, and compose a voice for the public." The inheritance of the Yellow River Cana Chorus is not only a requirement for contemporary college students to complete aesthetic education with the help of classic works, but also a cultural need for students to understand the development context of Chinese art, gradually build and enhance national self-confidence, and a spiritual construction demand for inheriting national memory and consolidating the history of the struggle of the Chinese nation.

This New Year's concert was finalized in mid-November, and the time is tight and the task is heavy. After receiving the task, Huang Xinxia, dean of the School of Art, led the leaders of the school to hold a special meeting, which was arranged and planned by the deputy dean to Lei. Under the leadership of Dr. Wang Yong and teacher Deng Xinwen, the choir students worked together to overcome difficulties and selfless dedication. They used the weekend breaks to rehearse more than 10 hours per week, which greatly ensured the performance standard and successfully completed the performance task.

In recent years, under the leadership and strong support of the school, the School of Art has continuously improved its level in discipline construction, talent training and teacher construction. The successful visit of the choir is not only the first show of our school's art performance team in the highest art performance platform in Hubei Province, but also an important symbol of our school's art education achievements, which provides valuable experience for the development of art disciplines and the creation of high-level art troupes.
